The Process (It’s Genuinely This Simple)
Cut the base into cubes. Smaller pieces melt faster and more evenly. I cut mine into roughly 1-inch chunks.
Melt it slowly. I use the microwave—30 seconds, stir; 30 seconds, stir. Keep going until it’s fully liquid. Don’t rush this part and don’t let it boil. If you prefer the stovetop, a double boiler on low heat works beautifully.
Wait a moment before adding oils. Once it’s melted, let it cool for just a minute or two — you don’t want the heat to destroy the essential oils. Then add your drops and stir gently.
Pour into molds. Do this slowly. Once it’s in, tap the mold on the counter a few times—this brings air bubbles to the surface. Then spritz the top lightly with rubbing alcohol, and those bubbles will pop instantly.
Leave it alone. 4 to 6 hours at room temperature. Don’t move it; don’t refrigerate it. Just let it set.
Pop them out and use them. That’s it. You have soap.

A Few Things I Learned the Hard Way
Don’t add too much essential oil. I went overboard on my second batch, thinking more fragrance = better soap. It made the bars soft and sweaty. Stick to around 10 to 15 drops per 100g of base.
Store your soaps properly. A cool, dry spot works fine. If you’re gifting them, wrap them in wax paper—it keeps them fresh and honestly looks quite beautiful.
