Who can obtain a Udyam registration certificate?

This certificate is available to anyone who runs a business in India, no matter how small. This includes:

  • Service providers such as transport, repair, salons, etc.
  • Freelancers and small businesses

You need only an Aadhaar card and PAN card and business and bank details to fill out the Udyam registration form.

 

How to get Udyam Registration Certificate?

The MSME registration process is very simple. 

First, visit the Udyam registration website. 

Click on the “New Udyam Registration” option. 

Enter your Aadhaar number and name and PAN details.

You will then need to fill in some business information.

Type of work it does

Number of employee

Annual turnover

Once everything is complete, submit it. 

Your Udyam Registration Certificate is available on your email ID.

 

What is mentioned in the Udyam certificate?

In the Udyam Certificate, the following things are mentioned:

  1. Udyam registration number 
  2. Business name
  3. Category of MSME
  4. Registration date

This certificate is valid for a lifetime. It doesn’t need to be renewed repeatedly.

 

Is there anything new introduced related to Udyam registration in 2026?

In 2026, the government has been trying to make the Udyam portal smoother and less. It is now automatically linked to GST and income tax data, eliminating the need to update information repeatedly.

In addition, there is now the Udyam Assist portal, designed for those working in the informal sector who don’t have a GST number. This means more people can benefit from it.

 

An important note

If you previously registered on Udyog Aadhaar, then you must migrate to Udyam Registration. The old Udyog Aadhaar is no longer valid and no longer provides benefits under government schemes.
